Engineering Departments, Nahda University:
1- Civil Engineering: As a civil engineer, find creative solutions to problems while working on a wide range of local, regional, and global projects. Apply cutting edge math, science, and technology to make a difference in the world.
2- Architectural Engineering: Architectural engineers apply mathematical and scientific principles to building design, concentrating on structural demands, functionality while taking into account economic and safety factors. They may design systems within a building, for instance, heating and air conditioning, lighting, and plumbing. Architectural engineers need to be able to diagram designs manually and through computer-aided drafting (CAD). Since they often work in teams, good communication skills are necessary. Architectural engineers must also be comfortable in different work environments; they often divide their time between offices and construction sites.
3- Communication and computer Engineering: Communication and computer engineering involve developing new software and hardware for computers by combining electronic engineering and computer science skills. They design, produce, and test programs, networks, chips, and processors.
This course combines electronic engineering and computer science and bridges the gap between hardware and software engineering. It includes a significant amount of practical and laboratory work, together with lectures and tutorials. A strong emphasis is placed throughout the course on developing the practical skills and the in-depth knowledge required by hi-tech companies.
4- Electrical and Renewable Energy Department. The department aims to meet the needs of renewable sources based power plants in the Arab Republic of Egypt, such as solar thermal energy, photovoltaic energy, and wind energy, by preparing engineers familiar with the various types of these sources to work. This department will graduate students capable of dealing with renewable energy sources- based power plants such as Wind, Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, Hydro, Fuel cell, Energy storage systems, and modern-related technologies.
5- A Mechatronics Department unites the principles of mechanics, electronics, and computing to generate a more straightforward, more economical, and reliable system. An industrial robot is a prime example of a mechatronics system; it includes electronics, mechanics, and computing to do its day-to-day jobs. It is used to control or regulate such a system (see control theory). Through collaboration, the mechatronic modules perform the production goals and inherit flexible and agile manufacturing properties in the production scheme.
6-Manufacturing Department develops and creates physical artifacts, production processes, and technology. It is an extensive area that includes the design and development of products. Manufacturing engineering is considered a subdiscipline of industrial engineering/systems engineering and has very strong overlaps with mechanical engineering.
